City left White Hart Lane with a share of the spoils as goalkeeper Joe Hart made a string of fine saves to earn them a 0-0 draw on the opening day of the new Premier League season.
"I think that, because it's against Tottenham, it's a difficult game," the City boss told Sky Sports.
"It's the first game for us and the second time that all these players have played together.
"I think that we need time because we have two, three new players and we haven't played together for five, six games.
"These players were together today and yesterday. It's difficult for us, but I think we have the time next week and we can improve."
