Wayne Rooney jokes over Man City's 'strange' 2012 title win

Wayne Rooney has revealed he still finds it 'strange' that Manchester City's 2011/12 Premier League title win has never been questioned - a point he made with tongue firmly in cheek.

Rooney's United had won at Sunderland on the final day of the season before the Citizens produced a stunning comeback to beat Queens Park Rangers 3-2.

Ten years on from Sergio Aguero's dramatic winner, Rooney told The Sun that he was disappointed with goalkeeper Paddy Kenny's performance and QPR's tactics late on.

"Paddy Kenny should have done better for a couple of the goals," Rooney said. "City get the second goal and QPR kick it straight back to them and that's never been questioned - I find that strange.

"Djibril Cisse celebrating after the game with the City players, but yes, listen, it's a historic moment in the Premier League so I'm sure that, if you are not involved as a Manchester United player, that's probably one of the greatest moments in the league."

The title win was a sliding doors moment for City. They have achieved domestic domination in England under Pep Guardiola, with United's last Premier League success coming in 2013.
