Valencia Make Joao Cancelo Signing 'Priority' With La Liga Side Keen on January Loan Deal

Spanish side Valencia will look to bring in Manchester City right back Joao Cancelo during the January transfer window, with the La Liga outfit making him their 'priority'.

The 25-year-old has made for 15 appearances for Pep Guardiola's side this season following his summer move from Juventus, featuring in all six group games in the Champions League.

However, Cancelo has struggled for minutes in the Premier League, having only started four times. To that end, he has not played a role in any of the team's last five league games.

As a result, AS now report that Valencia will look to secure a loan deal for the player during the January window, with the club making his signature a 'priority'. The report mentions that owner Peter Lim has held talks with Cancelo's agent Jorge Mendes over a loan deal that would run until at least the end of the current season.

However, it does note that the Spanish side are also considering other options. Cancelo left Valencia to sign for Juventus in the summer of 2018, after a loan spell at Inter.

The player played 91 times for Los Ches during his time at the club, announcing himself as one of Europe's finest right-backs.

Guardiola's men are currently third in the Premier League after 18 games, but find themselves 11 points behind title rivals Liverpool having played one game more than the Reds.

City winger Leroy Sane is still keen on securing a move to Bayern Munich and the player may look to push through a move during the January window, despite the fact he is yet to return from a serious knee injury.

However, the Manchester-based side have reportedly contacted the representatives of Paris Saint-Germain player Marquinhos over a potential deal in the upcoming winter transfer window, after talks between the Brazilian and the club broke down.
