Yaya Toure has been an absolute phenomenon for Manchester City and it was difficult leaving him out. It is fair to say City would be a different team without the Ivorian, who has the ability to switch from defence to attack in a matter of seconds with the trade-mark bombarding runs he does so effectivly.

Marek Hamsik also had a great season. With 13 goals and 12 assists, Napoli would be a different side without him. Lined up along side Edinson Cavani ? the duo carry a lot of the goal burden on there shoulders for the Serie A side.

Bastian Shweinsteger ? a story of so close yet so far. The German international played a key role for Bayern last year. Although his penalty miss against Chelsea ended his season on a sour note.

Young Brazilian Lucas Moura has earned himself a transfer to big-spending side Paris St-Germain. The 19 year old will earn around what is believed to be 250,000 pound a week ? after snubbing Manchester United. Only time will tell how great Lucas can be.

Dubbed the 'Ukrainian Messi' ? Yevhen Konoplyanka is definitly one for the future. He burst into the scene with an absolute beauty of a goal against England in a World Cup qualifiying game. Great expections will be put on Konoplyanka's young shoulders, and with the retirement of Ukraine legend, Andriy Shevchenko, he could have come no sooner.
