Tiatto's two-footed tackle on David Thompson left City trailing by two goals and down to men deep into the second half , although Keegan felt the sending-off helped to turn the game City's way.

"I have said to the player that it is not acceptable and we will fine him as much as we can. He didn't help us at all and it was a bad challenge.

"But daft as it sounds that incident changed the game. The other players responded in a way that they hadn't until that point.

"We came back from the dead really. We didn't seem to have the belief we normally have that we can go and cause them problems. But at 2-0 down and with 10 men we had nothing to lose and I guess the belief came.

"It was very very disappointing by our standards until the last 15 minutes. But Shaun Goater came on and did what he does best. Defeat here would have left us down for a few days but having come back well we'll take the pluses from it."
