A year ago the striker was embroiled in an extraordinary dispute with the club which saw him spend three months in his native Argentina on unauthorised leave. In total he spent almost six months out of the side but the problem is now well behind him and he is once again a key member of Roberto Mancini's team.
Tevez played a part in helping City secure the Barclays Premier League title last season and has figured prominently this term. The 28-year-old, who scored twice in Saturday's 5-0 win over Aston Villa, said: "I have changed my outlook on life in general. A very important factor is the fact I have all my family here in Manchester, which makes me very happy."
He added: "I am not worrying about the things I used to worry about, I am just concentrating on enjoying my time out on the field.
"My concerns, the things I concentrate on at the moment, are training and playing."
Tevez was speaking at a press conference to preview Wednesday's Champions League game against Real Madrid at the Etihad Stadium.
City have disappointed in the competition once again and must win the Group D match to retain any chance of progressing to the knockout stages.
Even then victory would need to be followed by another at Borussia Dortmund in a fortnight with results elsewhere going in their favour.
"The players are all convinced it is still possible," Tevez said. "As long as it is still mathematically possible, why not?
"As long as we go out determined to win the last two games, it is just a case of seeing how the other results turn out."
