Mark Hughes has confirmed that winger Shaun Wright-Philips is definitely out of the clash with Everton after failing to recover from the ankle injury which has forced him out of the last three games.
It is another injury blow for the blues, who are without striker Craig Bellamy for the rest of the season, although Hughes is hoping the Welsh international will feature again before the end of the season.
Pablo Zabaleta has also been ruled out of the clash and Nigel de Jong's fitness will be assessed as late as possible. The Dutchman has not trained all week after suffering a bang to his thigh.
