Southampton vs Man City: TV channel, live stream, team news & prediction

Southampton and Manchester City face each other for the third time this season, as the two go head to head in an FA Cup quarter-final showdown on Sunday.

Nothing has separated the sides in their previous meetings this term, as they drew 0-0 at the Etihad Stadium before drawing 1-1 at St. Mary's in the Premier League.

It should be an interesting clash between two sides that have faltered in their good form of late.

City come into this weekend's encounter off the back of two consecutive draws following three straight wins in all competitions, while Southampton have surprisingly lost their previous three Premier League fixtures since beating West Ham 3-1 in the last round of the FA Cup.

Southampton team news

Lyanco and Alex McCarthy are certain absentees for the hosts, although Ralph Hasenhuttl is hopeful that a few players could make returns to action for this weekend's FA Cup clash.

Nathan Tella, Armando Broja and Tino Livramento should be able to make it back to the matchday squad after having endured spells on the sidelines recently.

Man City team news

Pep Guardiola travels south with a healthy squad, with his only certain absentee coming in the shape of Ruben Dias, who is expected to return next month.

Elsewhere, Cole Palmer could be used as a substitute, with the teenager seemingly ready to make an imminent return to the fold.

Southampton vs Man City score prediction

With two stalemates so far this season, this one is tough to call.

Recent form will undoubtedly play a part, with Southampton's rocky spell consisting of much more severe results than City's bumpy patch - facing Guardiola's men with three successive defeats behind you is never ideal.

And, although the action on the football pitch hasn't shown a gap in ability at all this campaign, you would expect City to edge this one and progress to the final four of this competition.

Prediction: Southampton 0-2 Man City
