Shaun Wright-Phillips on brink of Manchester City exit

The 29-year-old winger has featured in just 12 games for City this campaign, and was heavily criticised by manager Roberto Mancini in the 0-0 Europa League draw with Aris Salonika earlier this week.

Time's up: Wright-Phillips is set to leave Eastlands in the summer

Wright-Phillips was on the verge of agreeing a loan switch to Fulham during the January transfer window but was told to stay at Eastlands after team-mate Adam Johnson was ruled out for three months with an ankle injury. ?

But the winger, who re-joined City from Chelsea in a ?9million deal in 2008, has conceded his future at Eastlands is likely to last beyond the end of the current campaign.

'To be quite honest, I'm here for three months and my heart is set on playing well for that period until the end of the season,' Wright-Phillips said.

Eye on the ball: Fulham and Bolton wanted to take the City winger on loan

'Until the season is over, there's nothing much I can really say on the matter. I'm playing for City and that's the main thing.'

Wright-Phillips however, admitted he would give his all for the club when called upon between now and the end of the season.

'I don't feel I can do a job for the club, I know I can do a job for the club,' Wright-Phillips who has enjoyed nine years at City said.

Injury woe: Johnson is likely to miss the remainder of the season

'And there's a big difference between feeling and knowing. I know what I'm capable of, so it's just a question of whether the club want me or not.

'I'm never encouraged by another player's misfortune. Adam is a good friend, so I'm disheartened he's injured - for club and country.

'There should be opportunities to play, because we're involved in two cup competitions and going well in the league.

'I've been here as a player for nine years in total and I will never forget the fans. They've practically helped me to become the player I am. It was nice to get a run-out at last.'
