SEAMAN ON TRIAL

That is according to today's Daily Mail, which claims the former Arsenal keeper could be rested permanently after the QPR game in the league cup (28th Aug).

Kevin Keegan is likely to bring in Nicky Weaver to relieve Seaman for the evening, but his break may be permanent if his poor form continues between now and then.

The former England man has been at fault, at least partly, for most of the goals conceded by City this term. Goals scored by Blackburn, Portsmouth, Arsenal, Fulham and Wolves have all resulted in City losing points, not to mention the scare in the Lokeren home tie.

However, Seaman passed the first examination in the away leg at Lokeren tonight, keeping a clean-sheet as City completed a 4-2 aggregate win.

City face a local derby with Bolton on Saturday before three challenging trips down South within a week - Chelsea, Southampton and QPR on the Tuesday.
