City striker Emmanuel Adebayor will today discover if he is to be punished over his goal celebrations after scoring against his former club Arsenal last month.

City are set to contest the charge and will use video evidence of Gary Neville’s celebrations at Old Trafford when he reacted in a similar fashion. Manager Mark Hughes is hopeful Ade will escape another ban after just completing a three match suspension for violent conduct.

Added to this, Ade was booked at the time and also apologised for his actions immediately after the incident, both of which should work in his favour, although don’t bank on it.
