Despite the City win it was the Baggies who took the lead when re-united old boy, Lee Hughes scored an early goal

City responded well and equalised with a 30 yard free kick struck by Kerkar.

City's striker injury problems continued midway through the first half when young Argentine, Vicente Vuoso, was taken off injured.

City won the game in the second half when a Kerkar shot was deflected into the net by Tamik Mkandawire.

City's first string will be hoping for a similar result when they travel to the Hawthorns on Saturday looking to avenge last season's 4-0 defeat.
