Rapid return for Jordan

The 22-year-old was caught by a tackle from West Brom's Andy Johnson on 28 December and was forced to limp out of the 1-1 draw, which brought an end to his run of first-team starts after making his league debut against Norwich on 1 November.

But after hitting the road to recovery, the Warrington-born left-back, who has impressed immensely since making his senior breakthrough, could be fit to face Newcastle on 2 February.

"I was initially told it would be four to six weeks but it now looks as if it could be three to four," Jordan told the club website.

"At first we thought it was just a knock on the ankle. But in fact I twisted it and snapped the medial ligament.

"It is the first major injury that I have had and it was a shame that it happened during a run of games in the Premiership."
