Appearances: 6
Goals: 3
Assists: 1

After some flashes of brilliance, Bruno Guimaraes really announced himself to the Premier League in April.

Although he wasn't signed as a goalscoring midfielder, the Brazilian made huge attacking contributions as Newcastle's resurgence continued.

Guimaraes netted a match-winning brace as the Magpies came from behind to beat Leicester, picked up the assist for the only goal of the game against Crystal Palace and netted a delightful dink as Norwich were brushed aside.

2. Cristiano Ronaldo (Manchester United)

Appearances: 4
Goals: 5
Assists: 0

Cristiano Ronaldo continued to shine on the pitch despite going through an incredibly difficult time on a personal level.

The Portuguese superstar scored five times in just four appearances across the month, including a match-winning hat-trick against Norwich which culminated in a trademark dipping free kick.

Ronaldo wrapped up the month with an emphatic finish to snatch a point in the clash with Chelsea.

3. Gabriel Jesus (Manchester City)

Appearances: 5
Goals: 6
Assists 1

If you want some idea of how good Gabriel Jesus' form was in April, the Brazilian scored six of his eight Premier League goals last month alone.

That included an obscene four-goal haul in Man City's 5-1 demolition of Watford at the Etihad - and he assisted his side's only other goal there too.

Either side of that phenomenal display, Jesus was also on the scoresheet in the top-of-the-table clash with Liverpool and at Leeds.

4. James Ward-Prowse (Southampton)

Appearances: 6
Goals: 3
Assists: 1

James Ward-Prowse's best season yet continued in April as he earned another PFA Fans' Player of the Month nomination.

The England international scored not one, but two direct free kicks across the month, and netted a zinger to rescue a point against south coast rivals Brighton.

The first of those was a trademark whip into the top corner to secure a point at Leeds, before he went with an unusual low effort to haul Saints back into the clash with the Seagulls. He added an assist in the defeat to Crystal Palace to boot.

5. Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City)

Appearances: 4
Goals: 2
Assists: 3

Kevin De Bruyne has hit his peak at just the right time for title-chasing Manchester City.

The brilliant Belgian was a creative and goalscoring force in April, netting two hugely important strikes in his first two matches before turning provider in the second half of the month.

De Bruyne scored early against both Burnley - an unerring strike - and Liverpool, before laying on three goals in two matches again Brighton and Watford.

6. Son Heung-min (Tottenham Hotspur)

Yet another PFA Fans' Player of the Month nomination in 2021/22 for Son Heung-min.

All of his five goal involvements came in just two games at the start of April as Tottenham enjoyed consecutive four-goal victories.

Son provided an excellent assist and got on the scoresheet in the 5-1 thumping of Newcastle, and then topped that with a hat-trick as Spurs thrashed Aston Villa, with a smashed half-volley the pick of the bunch.
