Joe Hart nominated for PFA Players' Player of the Year Award 2012

Having cemented his place as Manchester City's first choice in the previous season, Hart has since gone on to take the No.1 shirt for the England national team as well.

Hart nearly scored his first career goal in a Europa League tie with Sporting Lisbon in March 2012. The keeper's injury time header was pushed wide and City were eliminated from the competition.

His former Manchester City colleague Shay Given believes Hart has all it takes to be the best in the world: ?He is at a fantastic club, with some of the best players in the world. And Joe is one of them."

The keeper received backing from fans to be named as the new England captain ahead of Euro 2012.

Hart himself played down the claims by saying: ?It's a long way off happening for myself, there are some big candidates and big names and a lot of caps to be put on the table. Whatever happens, happens.?

He currently has made 40 appearances this season, 28 coming in the Premier League.
