Pep Guardiola rules out further summer signings for Man City

Pep Guardiola says Manchester City's transfer business is finished this summer, barring any further departures.

The Cityzens moved early in the window to secure the services of both Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez, while Kalvin Phillips arrived from Leeds in a deal worth in excess of £40m. Left-back Sergio Gomez was also signed from Anderlecht earlier this week.

Meanwhile, City sanctioned the sales of Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko to Arsenal, while Raheem Sterling joined Chelsea.

And Guardiola insists that his side's transfer business has concluded this summer in the event of no further exits.

"Apparently yes," the Spaniard replied when asked if City's window was done. "But if someone moves or if there's a problem that we don't expect, it will maybe happen. But apparently."

Scott SaundersGraeme Bailey & Toby Cudworth bring you Talking Transfers, discussing Erik ten Hag wanting to sign five players before the transfer window closes, and Man Utd's attitude to selling Cristiano Ronaldo. Available on all audio platforms and the 90min YouTube channel.

Guardiola also issued an update on the future of Bernardo Silva, with the Portuguese linked with a move away from Manchester.

90min revealed earlier this week that City have no desire to sell the midfielder amid links to both Barcelona and PSG.

The Spaniard added: "He’s our player. He knows our wishes as a club, me as a manager and even his mates. What is going to happen? I don’t know.

"I said many times, yes [that I want him to remain at the club]."

Man City travel to face Newcastle in the Premier League as Guardiola's men look to continue their 100% start to the league season.
