Pep Guardiola names four Man City stars on bench for Fulham clash

Erling Haaland has not made the Manchester City starting lineup for their clash with Fulham at the Etihad Stadium.

The Norwegian, who has been battling a foot injury over the past couple of weeks, is among the City substitutes after failing to prove his fitness during the week.

Ruben Dias and Aymeric Laporte are also benched as Pep Guardiola keeps faith with John Stones, Manuel Akanji and Nathan Ake, while Phil Foden again misses out on a place in the starting 11.

That means it's a front three of Bernardo Silva, Julian Alvarez and Jack Grealish for the reigning Premier League champions, with the midfield ammunition supplied by the incomparable Kevin De Bruyne. Ilkay Gundogan and Rodri are the other two starters for City in the centre of the park.

Fulham, meanwhile, are without Aleksandar Mitrovic, with the Serb struggling for fitness and on four yellow cards for the season. Marco Silva has opted to play Carlos Vinicius up front in his place, supported in the forward areas by Willian and Andreas Pereira.

Victory for City would send them back to the top of the Premier League table, though they may be toppled once more if leaders Arsenal can overcome Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
