The Blues have already been lifted by the news that Sylvain Distin and Robbie Fowler will return to the squad having come through the reserves game with Birmingham in midweek.
Goals from Stephen Ireland and Mark Laird, made by Lee Croft and Yasser Hussain respectively, gave City a 2-0 win in a game in which Distin featured for 65 minutes while Fowler went off with just 11 minutes left.
Now City's boss has received the monthly award - for the second successive time after winning it in April - and he insists it is all down to his players.
“For me, it’s the team, it’s always got to be the team," Pearce told the City website.
"I’ve said from day one, I’m sunk without the players. If they decide one day ‘I’m not working for this fella’, that’s my lot! I’m out of the door and the chairman would have no choice in the matter!
"I’m happy to work that way, any accolades we get this year I’ll say to the players that they have achieved that, and then go and show anything we’ve got to the supporters.
"The supporters deserve every bit of praise, because they are putting the dough into this football club," added the City boss.
