Mario Balotelli and Jerome Boateng scrap in training

The striker, who has struggled to win over his team-mates since signing from Inter Milan for £23million in the summer, clashed with Boateng during training on Friday.

The pair had to be separated by City defender Kolo Toure as the tussle threatened to explode.

Balotelli was eventually calmed down by his team-mates before being spoken to by manager Roberto Mancini.

It is not yet clear what the argument was over but Balotelli has failed to fully impress his fellow City players after being accused of occasional laziness.

Balotelli has enjoyed mixed success since arriving in England. He has scored several goals for City but has also been sent off and endured injury problems.

Boateng was another summer arrival, signing for £10m from Hamburg.

City continue their push for the Premier League title when they take on Bolton at Eastlands on Saturday.
