Roberto Mancini: “I think we played better against United.
“Against United we put on a really good performance, but made some mistakes.
“At Newcastle we continued to do what we did against United.
“It was more like last year, when we were making a lot of chances to score – we played very well.
“It is always important to react after a defeat, and when that defeat comes against United it is even more important.
“I was happy with the way we played against United, but disappointed about the result.
“When you concede a goal in the last seconds after recovering from 2-0 down, and kept United in their own half for 45 minutes, like they are a small team, you have to be happy.
“In the derby, we wanted to score the third goal and win, and in the end we lost.”
