The 46th Manchester derby in the Premier League will take place on Sunday afternoon, when Manchester United host rivals Manchester City at Old Trafford.
This will be the fourth clash between these two teams for the season, having played out two legs of the Carabao Cup semi-final as well as the reverse league fixture in December.
The Red Devils eased into the FA Cup quarter-finals with a comfortable 3-0 win at Derby County on Thursday night and are currently on a nine-game unbeaten run in all competitions – the longest of any Premier League team.
Meanwhile, the Citizens edged past Sheffield Wednesday a night earlier with a 1-0 victory in their FA Cup fifth round tie.

Injury Update
Man Utd come into this game with some significant injuries that could severely weaken their team on the weekend. Skipper Harry Maguire rolled his ankle in training this week and missed the Derby game on Thursday, leaving him a major doubt. Other doubts include Aaron Wan-Bissaka (back) and Daniel James (knock) who both were sidelined in the week and may not be available.
The trio join star players Marcus Rashford (back) and Paul Pogba (ankle) on the injury list, as well as veteran goalkeeper Lee Grant – who recently inked a new deal to stay at Old Trafford.
Meanwhile, City will be sweating on the availability of star midfielder Kevin de Bruyne. Having sat out Wednesday's win with back problems, even manager Pep Guardiola has admitted that the Belgian may not be able to play on Sunday.
If he is ruled out, he will be watching from the stands alongside Aymeric Laporte (thigh) and Leroy Sané (knee) who are also ruled out for the clash.
Predicted Lineups
Man Utd | De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Lindelöf, Maguire, Shaw; McTominay, Fred; Mata, Fernandes, Greenwood; Martial |
Man City | Ederson; Walker, Fernandinho, Otamendi, Zinchenko; Gündoğan, Rodri, D Silva; Mahrez, Agüero, B Silva |
Head-to-Head Record
When the two teams met for the first-leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final at Old Trafford, it was the Citizens who took a 3-1 victory back to the Etihad Stadium. Goals from Bernardo Silva and Riyad Mahrez, as well as an own-goal from Andreas Pereira were enough for the away side despite Rashford's late consolation – and a 1-0 win at Old Trafford wasn't enough to overturn the deficit (because of maths).
The simple way of looking at it? The previous three games between the sides this season have ended with home wins.
Recent Form
Here's how both teams have fared in their last five games.
Man Utd | Man City |
Derby 0-3 Man Utd (5/3) | Sheffield Wednesday 0-1 Man City (4/3) |
Everton 1-1 Man Utd (1/3) | Aston Villa 1-2 Man City (1/3) |
Man Utd 5-0 Club Brugge (27/2) | Real Madrid 1-2 Man City (26/2) |
Man Utd 3-0 Watford (23/2) | Leicester 0-1 Man City (22/2) |
Club Brugge 1-1 Man Utd (20/2) | Man City 2-0 West Ham (19/2) |
Prediction
With three points keeping them from fourth-placed Chelsea, a win could be more significant for Man Utd than the visitors as it could keep them in contention for Champions League qualification.
The possible absences of Maguire, James and Wan-Bissaka, as well as the missing Rashford and Pogba, could make that much more difficult. It will likely leave them without enough quality to topple the Citizens who, without De Bruyne, are still a difficult team to beat.
Prediction: Man Utd 1-2 Man City
