Man City vs Atletico Madrid: TV channel, live stream, team news & prediction

Manchester City will look to do what Manchester United could not - eliminate Atletico Madrid from the Champions League - when the Spaniards come to town on Tuesday.

City thumped Sporting CP 5-0 in their last-16 tie to set up this meeting with Atleti, who won 1-0 at Old Trafford to steer themselves through to the quarter-finals of the competition.

Diego Simeone's men have won six on the bounce in all competitions, making them the form team heading into this one, but City are unbeaten in seven and have tasted defeat just once since they lost to RB Leipzig in their final group-stage game back in December.

Here's all you need to know about this one.

Man City team news

Right-back Kyle Walker will serve the last of his three-game suspension for the red card he picked up back in the group stage, which Pep Guardiola was more than happy to publicly describe as 'stupid'.

The boss' frustrations towards that suspension will have only grown with the news that Ruben Dias is out with a hamstring injury and John Stones was only fit enough for a spot on the bench last time out after withdrawing from international duty.

Young Cole Palmer is also out with an ankle injury.

Atletico Madrid team news

Atleti's latest casualty comes in the form of centre-back Jose Maria Gimenez, who has recently been ruled out through injury. He joins midfielder Hector Herrera on the sidelines.

Yannick Carrasco is dealing with his own suspension, but Koke and Angel Correa are eligible after serving domestic bans at the weekend.

Renan Lodi and Rodrigo de Paul saw 45 minutes each after late returns from international duty, while striker Luis Suarez got just 15, but all three could play a bigger role this time around.

Man City vs Atletico Madrid score prediction

Atletico have been more attack-minded than usual in recent weeks, and their recent run of wins proves that things are working, although that tactical shift has come at the expense of a shaky defence that has kept just six clean sheets in all competitions in 2022.

For the neutral, they're a little more fun to watch, but that should play right into City's hands. They're the better team this season and they'll appreciate playing more of an open game, rather than one which would put them up against a low block.

Atleti should find their way through to goal, but City won't be too worried about this one.

Prediction: Man City 3-1 Atletico Madrid
