Reports today reveal that Manchester City are preparing a £30m bid to bring Wolfsburg star Kevin De Bruyne back to the Premier League

The report in the Express reveals the Chelsea reject has proven quality but wasnÂ’t given the opportunity to prove himself at Stamford Bridge before becoming surplus to requirements

The player has helped Wolfsburg secure a Champions League spot by finishing second in the league as well as scoring in the final of the DFB-Pokal final win against Dortmund.

The players credentials as a playmaker are confirmed by the stats which show the player topped the table for the number of assists from all the major European leagues with 20.

The report in the Express claims that City are in contact with the agent of the 23-year-old and that they are prepared to now make a formal offer for the player

City are expected to start the process of rebuilding their squad after what must be described as a disappointing season where they failed to defend their crown as champions of England.

Manuel Pellegrini has come under some pressure with some quarters expecting the manager to be replaced but the arrival of the Belgium international would certainly provide some additional creativity for the likes of Aguero.
