Man City predicted lineup vs Leicester - Premier League

Manchester City look to continue their blistering Premier League form as they host Leicester on Boxing Day.

Pep Guardiola's men have been ruthless of late, with eight consecutive league victories - including a 7-0 mauling of Leeds and a 4-0 battering of Newcastle in their previous two - ensuring their place at the top of the tree at Christmas.

Sitting three points ahead of second-placed Liverpool, Guardiola's comparatively very healthy squad hosts a Leicester side consistently struggling to find consistency.

Here's who the Man City boss could field to overcome their ninth-placed visitors.

1. Goalkeeper & Defenders

Ederson (GK) - Three successive clean sheets - making it ten for the season already - see the Brazilian top of the goalkeeping charts as the Premier League season approaches its midway point.

Joao Cancelo (RB) - Whether he's at right or left-back his influence on matches is staggering and, following a raucous display at Newcastle, he'll obviously start this one.

Ruben Dias (CB) - Got his second league goal of the season last time out and, against a Leicester side woefully incompetent at defending set pieces, could get his third - or even fourth.

Aymeric Laporte (CB) - Has been the first-choice partner to Dias this season and should be set for a 14th league start of the campaign.

Oleksandr Zinchenko (LB) - While Kyle Walker remains doubtful, the ever-reliable Zinchenko should continue in defence.

2. Midfielders

Rodri (DM) - Undeniably one of the best defensive midfielders in world football, Rodri makes commanding the centre of the pitch look as easy as anything.

Bernardo Silva (CM) - His spark has fizzled out slightly in recent weeks but Silva's proven to be unplayable for the majority of 2021/22 and should be set for an 18th consecutive Premier League start.

Kevin De Bruyne (CM) - Followed a masterclass against Leeds with a less-than-impressive display at Newcastle but, while Ilkay Gundogan waits in the wings, will likely start again for this one.

3. Forwards

Riyad Mahrez (RW) - Phil Foden and Jack Grealish will both be hopeful of coming back into the fold after being dropped for disciplinary reasons last time out but, after his brilliant performance at St. James' Park, Mahrez deserves his place.

Gabriel Jesus (ST) - The Brazilian was also key last time out, grabbing the assist for his side's fourth.

Raheem Sterling (LW) - The BBC Sports Personality of the Year nominee would also feel hard-done-by to lose his place to either Foden or Grealish, scoring and generally playing well in his side's last outing.
