Kevin De Bruyne & Kyle Walker to miss Liverpool FA Cup semi-final

Manchester City will be without both Kevin De Bruyne and Kyle Walker for their FA Cup semi-final against Liverpool.

De Bruyne hobbled off with 25 minutes to go in Wednesday's gritty 0-0 draw with Atletico Madrid after appearing to injure his ankle, ten minutes before Walker picked up a similar issue of his own.

With a trip to Wembley to face arch rivals Liverpool just around the corner, The Times note that Pep Guardiola is preparing for the match without both De Bruyne and Walker.

The Belgian midfielder is confidently ruled out of the game after he was spotted with an ice pack around his right ankle, which he hurt following a kick from Atletico's Felipe earlier in the match but tried to play through.

As for Walker, he is seen as a 'serious doubt' because of his issue. Joao Cancelo is expected to slide over to right-back, with Oleksandr Zinchencko filling in on the left.

Fortunately for City, there are no long-term concerns about the two players. De Bruyne was walking unaided when he returned to the UK and does not believe he has picked up any significant damage, but the timing of the Liverpool game has not worked in his favour.

Both De Bruyne and Walker will be sent for further tests in the coming days.

Manager Pep Guardiola has already made his concerns about City's injury issues clear, admitting they were in 'big trouble' after the Atletico game.
