KK made two changes to the side which won at West Brom at the weekend with Ali Benarbia and Shaun Wright-Phillips returning to the side.

"We treated this game with respect and obviously when you do that you put out the strongest side you can. I decided to put Ali Benarbia in for Eyal Berkovic and we were without Danny Tiatto through injury," Keegan said after the defeat at the JJB Stadium.

"At the end of the day we were not quite good enough to do that. Wigan worked hard, got the break and were good enough to hang on to it."

"While I am disappointed myself I am always a great believer in giving credit to the other team. I think Wigan are a better team than the Division they are in."

"Had we been at our best and played the sort of football of which we are capable and showed more committment, particularly in the first half, the game was there for us."

"We should have put the kids in. But you have to stick to what you believe in. This competition is worth having a go at, we had a go at it but we were not good enough on the night."
