Keegan resigned to losing Foe

Foe's club Lyon are demanding £7million for the Cameroon international - a price out of City's reach.

"The fee Lyon are asking for is totally unrealistic given the current state of the transfer market and the fact that Marc is out of contract completely in 12 months' time," Keegan said after Foe's double helped City to a comfortable 3-0 victory over Sunderland at Maine Road.

"There are not going to be many big transfers this summer and we have a budget to work within, so at this stage it looks as though we are going to lose him, which would be a big blow considering Peter Schmeichel is retiring as well.

"They are both important players for us and when Marc's contract is up, we will be in their sniffing round if Lyon haven't already decided to cash in.

"He has been great in the dressing room and has scored goals as well."
