"The fact that the players thought their season ended here is an insult to the fans, me and the staff."

On the subject of Zola, who was instrumental in Chelsea's victory Keegan said: "Zola is a most wonderful player.

"He has brains, energy and commitment and made things happen for them when the game was going flat."
