City take on Jol's German side at Eastlands in the 2nd leg of the Uefa Cup quarter final on Thursday night with a 3-1 defecit to try and overcome with reports suggesting that City's new owners had targetted the former Spurs boss to replace Mark Hughes in the summer.

"These things are really getting on my nerves, I do not think about it," Jol has said.

My aim is to see the Hamburg supporters happy at the end of the season. We are a really big club with great fans and an environment of only a few clubs in Europe.

"I am very happy to be here and enjoy the fantastic circumstances.

"Hamburg is a club with a big tradition. Even in England there are only four clubs like that.

"I could really imagine working on here beyond the end of my contract (which expires in 2010), thus far we have not been talking about an extension.

"I read the club wants to make the next step.

"I am curious to find out what this next step will look like."
