Hughes Still Keen On Roque

City have had several bids for the 27-year-old Paraguayan striker rejected by Rovers during this months transfer window but Hughes has not given up hope of signing the player that he took to Ewood Park when he wa managerthere.

"It is well documented that we have put in a number of bids for Santa Cruz," he told Sky Sports News.

"He is a player I have worked with before and I think that he could help us.

"Obviously it has been going on for some time now and it is obviously Blackburn's prerogative to turn down any offer we make.

"We are trying to move that process forward.

"If it happens we will be delighted, but if not we will have to move on and look at other targets."
