FPL Gameweek 20 rolls around with four sides facing two fixtures rather than the usual one: Manchester City, Spurs, Crystal Palace and Manchester United. That makes the captain decision more crucial, including a potential Triple Captain decision.

Harry Kane vs Arsenal (H) & Manchester City (A)

Ordinarily, Harry Kane would be a firm favourite in the captain conundrum, given his sensational form this season. He’s on for his best ever season, with 15 goals and four assists at the halfway point and only 17 points behind Erling Haaland.

However, there’s a very good reason to be wary of giving Kane the captaincy this week. He currently sits on four yellow cards and a booking in the north London derby would result in him being suspended for the Manchester City game, effectively giving him a single gameweek.

Kane has 14 goals in 16 Premier League appearances against Arsenal, including three goals in the last three. Kane also scored a brace in a 3-2 win away at Manchester City last season.

Marcus Rashford vs Manchester City (H) & Crystal Palace (A)

Rashford is the form player in the Premier League since the restart as the highest scoring star across midfielders and forwards with three goals and one assist. This form extends across cup competitions too, with four goals and two assists in three fixtures.

It now seems that he could be United’s first choice penalty taker after converting from the spot against Everton in the FA Cup. He’s been clinical in his finishing, with his three goals coming from five shots on target.

Erling Haaland vs Manchester United (A) & Spurs (H)

As always, Erling Haaland dominates the captain conversation and he has three goals in three games since the restart. The difficulty of the fixtures shouldn’t put managers off; he scored 23 FPL points in the reverse fixture of the Manchester derby which Manchester City won 6-3. Haaland scored a hat-trick in that game and also bagged two assists.

The biggest question here is whether to use the Triple Captain chip on Haaland this week. Given Haaland’s form this season, it makes perfect sense to Triple Captain him in a Double Gameweek, but is this going to be the best opportunity?

City also play twice in Gameweek 23 against Aston Villa and Arsenal, fixtures which carry a similar appeal. The Fantasy Football Hub algorithm predicts Haaland to score 14.2 points in Gameweek 20 and 12.4 points in Gameweek 23.

City are still involved in the FA Cup, meaning they could get some future postponements and doubles later in the season. The schedule will be far more congested at this point of the season, with the rotation risk higher around the various competitions. Future doubles may also be better suited to using the other chips and given we can only use one chip per gameweek, now is a good time to Triple Captain Haaland.
