Everton Turn Down City Bid For Lescott? Surely Not

Everton, as expected have turned down a £15m bid for Joleon Lescott.

Having seemingly lost out it their efforts to sign John Terry from Chelsea, City boss Mark Hughes turned his attentions back to Lescott but was met with a firm rejection from the Everton board.

If City have another bid rejected, it will probably be up to the defender himself to force the issue and hand in an official transfer request if he is to secure his move to Eastlands.

Lescott, who must surely be a distant relative of Big Brother winner Brian Belo, has spent three years at the Toffee's since moving from Wolves in a £5m move.

Elsewhere, The Mirror reports Emmanuel Adebayor has completed his move to Eastlands in a £22m deal, but, in a move similar to Joey Barton's long awaited transfer to Newcastle, the striker is waiting for a £2m loyalty payout from the Gunners since he didn't officially request to leave the Londoners.

And in the strangest news so far this close season, Noel Gallagher has spoke out about the club wanting to sign John Terry, claiming he is a cry baby and has funny eyes.

Hello Mr Kettle, it's the pot here.
