Elano to commit to City

Elano wants to discuss a new contract at Manchester City. The Brazilian star, who has put in a string of fine performances of late, is ready to commit to the blues after a torrid start to the season. "If it was up to me, I would be sat around a table discussing a new contract," says the City midfielder.

After falling out of favour with manager Mark Hughes, Elano's future looked like being away from Eastlands. But injury to Shaun Wright-Phillips, which has kept the winger out of the last four games, seems to have given Elano a new lease of life and the former Shakhtar Donetsk man has been in fine form of late.

Elano, signed by former Manager Sven Goran Eriksson in 2007, was alleged to have been one of Mark Hughes's fiercest critics earlier in the season, but if there had been any differences between the two, they now seem to have been settled.
