Dunne upbeat for sticky schedule

City face Newcastle tonight and then visit Chelsea, before United come to SportCity for the derby, but the City defender pointed out that the Blues seem to perform better against the bigger teams.

"It would have been nice to have won at West Brom because over the next couple of weeks it is going to be difficult task to pick up any points," he told the M.E.N.

"We don't know why but we seem to perform better against the bigger clubs, so I don't think it will be a case of us going into the matches with Newcastle, Chelsea and United with our confidence low.

"We don't treat anyone any different but for the big games at home the crowd also seem up for it and we are confident we can pick up a few points.

"Even when we played Newcastle up at their place and they beat us, we felt that on the day we should have won because we gave away a couple of sloppy goals.

"Now that Boumsong is out of the match injured they will be fielding more or less the same team, so we think that on our own pitch we have a good enough team, that has been playing reasonably well lately, that we can pick up the win."

Dunne added: "We are proud, we have always come out fighting and we have shown with some of our results that we can be a match for anyone on our day, including Newcastle. We are above them in the table and we want to stay that way."
