Dunne doubtful for Leeds clash

City boss Kevin Keegan could well be without two of his central defenders for the visit of a resurgent Leeds side after he lost both Richard Dunne and Steve Howey within an hour of the cup tie with Liverpool on Sunday.

"I lost my two defenders within an hour of each other. Richard Dunne has a virus which may keep him out of the Leeds game and he certainly won't be able to train before it," said Keegan.

"Steve Howey has an achilles injury so the two changes I had to make were forced on me.

"I thought the players who came in did very well. I took Lucien Mettomo off not because of anything he did but because I had to change the shape and he was the unlucky one."

"I have tried to explain that to him though he was pretty down about it. I thought Gerard Wiekens was our best player and that tells you how disappointed I am. He shouldn't come in and be our best player."
