Van Marwijk dropped the Manchester City player last October following his challenge on Newcastle's Hatem Ben Arfa, which left the midfielder with a double leg break.
The decision saw De Jong miss the Euro 2012 qualifying wins over Moldova and Sweden, but he has now been given another chance in the national team.
