Czech mate for Weaver?

According to reports in the Czech Republic, City are interested in signing Sparta Prague keeper, Jaromir Blazek. Club bosses have been watching the 30-year-old for months and will have a close eye on Sparta's visit Chelsea next week.

But it is unsure if Blazek will accompany the remaining keepers, Nicky Weaver and Kevin Ellegaard, or seal the end for injury-prone Weaver?

Blazek has two international caps and is rated at £1.4m by his club. He failed to break through at Sparta earlier in his career so dropped to the second division but worked his way back to Sparta and has been their regular number one for two seasons.

Blazek has said: "It would be exciting to play in the great atmosphere of the Premiership."

But Atletico Madrid and an unnamed German club have also been tracking the Czech keeper.
