Coach hopes for winning mentality

Too often last term, City were on top but could not hold on for the win they deserved.

But Fazackerley believes that beating the Premiership's second-placed club will help establish a winning mentality amongst the City squad.

"I think it is very important now that the players take this win over Chelsea and use it as a psychological boost," he told the official City website.

"I think too many times last season we came out of tight games where we played very well and didn't win.

"The players felt, 'here we go again', and were wondering if there was some sort of jinx on the ground.

"They need two or three good results like we had against Chelsea to prove to themselves as much as anyone that they are capable of competing with the best in the Premier League."
