After bolstering the midfield with Gareth Barry and the attack with Santa, City boss Mark Hughes is now concentrating on the defence with Joleon Lescott a £15m target.
The Toffees are reluctant to sell the England centre back, but may be tempted by a big cash offer and hopefully Jo as part of the deal. The Brazilian will soon be surplus to requirements following Santa's arrival and the (hopefully) imminent arrival of Carlos Tevez and maybe Samuel Eto'o.
The Tevez saga is set to be concluded next week when his loan deal expires. City are rumoured to be hot favourites to sign the Argentine despite competition from Chelsea.
