City stand firm over Tevez

Faced with the prospect of having to splash out £45million to get Sergio Aguero in from Atletico Madrid as Tevez's replacement, City are refusing to budge from their £50million valuation of the player.

So, unless a compromise can be reached - and City have given no indication of an intention to yield, Tevez will have to return to the newly renamed Etihad Stadium once he has had a short break after the ongoing Copa America.

It may not seem the most palatable thought for the Argentinian. However, at least his position is not comparable to the one Ousmane Dabo encountered at City, when he ended up in hospital after a training-ground attack by Joey Barton that eventually resulted in court action against his one-time team-mate.

"It went to court and he pleaded guilty. It was over from that moment," said the Frenchman. "I don't know how he has done since and I don't care."

Dabo is hoping to play some part for New England Revolution at the Gillette Stadium on Wednesday night when they play host for the first game of Manchester United's five-match US tour.

Although it is now three and a half years since his injury-plagued and violence-scarred stay in Manchester came to an end, he remains wedded to City.

Indeed, his fiancee hails from the place he used to call home and is, therefore, a frequent visitor.

It has given him a unique insight into the development made at the Blues under the tutelage of a man he used to call boss, Roberto Mancini.

"I had him at Lazio," said Dabo. "He bought me in 2003. He is a great manager and is already doing a good job. They won the FA Cup last season and I am very happy for them."
