City disappointed with Reading loss

City suffered their 2nd away defeat of the season to the Premiership newcomers, who won 1-0 thanks to a 1st-half header by Ivar Ingimarsson.

City dominated possession in the 2nd half and had plenty of shots but failed to fashion a clear-cut opportunity and any hope of a late equaliser were gone when new French midfielder Ousmane Dabo was harshly shown a straight red card for elbowing.

"I'm very disappointed at the result," Pearce told the City website. "I thought we knocked it about well and played some good football, but we conceded to a set play, which is a disappointment for me.

"We created more chances than in previous games. I can't fault them for their work rate and their effort, but we are disappointed to come away from here with nothing. We feel as though we deserve more than that."

“We've probably had more chances than them, but we didn't hit the target as much as we would have liked," added Weaver, who played his 4th straight game in goal after a long absence from the 1st team.

“We worked really hard and came away with nothing when we perhaps deserved something – but that's football.

"Losing by the odd goal you always fancy a half-chance going into the last few minutes but it never really came.

"We're very disappointed because, no disrespect to Reading, but these are places that a club and a team like us should be coming and at least getting a point."
