Man City are interested in signing Bayern Munich star Thiago Alcantara and will challenge Barcelona for his signature, claims the Metro.
The Spanish international midfielder played under Guardiola at Barcelona and was set to join Manchester United in 2013 before Guardiola intervened to sign him for Bayern.
According to the paper, Guardiola sent scouts to assess the player's fitness over consecutive games towards the end of last season.
