The Hammers have expressed an interest in signing the Bulgarian striker, who has been sidelined ll season with an Achilles injury, but he has been told by City boss Mark Hughes that his immediate future lies at Eastlands.

"I feel great in Manchester City and don't want to leave the team," he has said.

"I'm happy the City management values me. The only thing I want is to be healthy again, so that I can prove myself.

"Mark Hughes told me that Gianfranco Zola wants me but City made it perfectly clear that they don't want to sell me."
