Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany has called his side's performance in the 2-1 victory over Liverpool at the Etihad "beyond anything else I've ever witnessed" after reducing the gap at the top of the table to four points.

But the City manager was quick to say the comeback was far from over, citing the competitiveness of the Premier League this year: “I don't remember a league so tough, there are so many huge contenders fighting for the title. It is closer, every game is a final.”
