The City midfielder has still to recover fully from the ankle injury he suffered at the beginning of May and has been told by England boss fabio Capello that he will play no part against the Americans on Saturday.
'I've been told I'm not playing against USA to give me more time,' Barry has confirmed.
'I'll be back in full training with the team from tomorrow (Wednesday)."
