Adebayor On The Way?

Manchester City are reportedly in 'significant' talks with Arsenal about the possible signing of striker Emmanuel Adebayor and rumours are that the two clubs have agreed a £20m fee.

After pulling the plug on the Samuel Eto'o deal, City are looking to further strenghten their forward line and see Adebayor as the ideal partner for either Roque Santa Cruz or Carlos Tevez.

The Togo striker has become unsettled at The Emirates and was a target for AC Milan and Barcelona but it is now looking likely that City will offer him a chance to remain in the Premiership.

With Tevez expected to complete his move to Eastlands either today or tomorrow, City will have one of the strongest striking line-ups in the Premiership as they seek to end their long wait for silverware.

if both sign, manager Mark Hughes will then step up his efforts to sign an increasingly frustrated John Terry, who is said to be unhappy at Chelsea's lack of direction and failure to land any big name signings, while also losing out to City in the race to sign Tevez and Robinho last summer.

Meanwhile it has been announced that Vincent Kompany will miss the start of the new season due to a foot injury nad has been sent home from teh team's Bavarian camp for surgery.
