Adama Traore Becomes Just Third Player to Score 3 in a Season Against Pep Guardiola's Man City

Pep Guardiola really must be sick of the sight of Adama Traore.

The man built like a heavyweight boxer, yet possessing the exhilarating speed of a 100m runner, was once again instrumental in inspiring Wolves to a memorable win over Manchester City.

The Premier League champions led 2-0 at Molineux despite having goalkeeper Ederson sent off after just 15 minutes. However, goals from Traore, Raul Jimenez and Matt Doherty stunned the visitors as Nuno Espirito Santo's side as they lifted themselves to fifth in the Premier League - just two points off Chelsea in fourth.

It's not as if City hadn't been warned about the incredible raw ability that Traore possesses. The flying Spaniard scored twice for Wolves in a shock 2-0 win at the Etihad back in October - which put a serious dent in the Citizens title bid. Even before the game, Guardiola claimed that the only way to stop him was with a motorcycle. Even then it probably wouldn't be enough.

The City boss has other first-hand experience of just how explosive Traore can be. Back when he was Barcelona manager, Traore was a youngster at the club. If reports are to believed, he even tried signing the now 23-year-old when he was at Bayern Munich.

On Friday night, Traore was the man to get Wolves back into the game. After receiving the ball outside the penalty area, he fired an arrowing strike into the bottom corner with expert precision. He would then go on to bully Benjamin Mendy and set up Jimenez for the equaliser.

Interestingly enough, this is only the third time that a player has scored three times in a single season against Guardiola's City side.

The other two players were Jamie Vardy and Eden Hazard - both in the 2016/17 season.

Hazard bagged in a 3-1 win at the Etihad in 2016, and then grabbed a brace in what was a scintillating individual performance at Stamford Bridge as they claimed a 2-1 victory.

Vardy did it in very different fashion to the Belgian. The current leader of the Premier League goalscoring charts scored a hat-trick at the King Power Stadium as he guided his side to a 4-2 win over City. He failed to make a mark in the reverse fixtures as the Foxes lost 2-1.

FBL-ENG-PR-LEICESTER-MAN CITY

This really seems to be a coming-of-age season for Traore. From a headless winger to an unplayable, explosive one.  It's utterly thrilling to watch him play, and he will now head to Anfield in an attempt to inflict a first loss of the Premier League season on a rampant Liverpool team.

Oh yeah, get him in your Fantasy Football team too.
