Pep Guardiola will be desperate for his Manchester City side to return to winning ways against West Ham on Sunday.
After last weekend's 2-0 loss to Tottenham, Man City find themselves a staggering 22 points behind runaway league leaders Liverpool. After such a disappointing defeat, three points is simply a must for Guardiola's men - although it is probably too little, too late.
Ahead of their visit to the Etihad, David Moyes' West Ham are in a perilous position. Without a win in their last five league games, the Hammers have slipped into the relegation zone, now a point from safety. Last weekend was one to forget, after they let a 3-1 lead slip to end up drawing 3-3 to Brighton.
City and West Ham may lie at opposite ends of the table, but both will feel picking up points from this one is imperative.

Team News
Man City's defeat to Spurs on Sunday came at a further cost to the club, with forward Raheem Sterling suffering a hamstring injury. He is out for Sunday's game, as well as two more after that.

However, defenders Aymeric Laporte, and Benjamin Mendy could return to the starting 11 against the Hammers, both of whom sat out last week. Mendy is likely to replace the suspended Oleksandr Zinchenko, after his red card against Spurs.
Though back in training, Leroy Sané is not yet fit for selection.
David Moyes has no fresh injury concerns ahead of this one. However, the Hammers could be boosted by the return of Felipe Anderson, who has been sidelined for the last three weeks with a rib injury.
Andriy Yarmolenko, and Jack Wilshere, who recently required surgery on a hernia, remain long-term absentees.
Predicted Lineups
Manchester City: | Ederson; Cancelo, Fernandinho, Laporte, Mendy; Rodri, De Bruyne, David Silva; Mahrez, Aguero, Jesus. |
West Ham: | Fabianski; Fredericks, Diop, Ogbonna, Cresswell; Rice; Snodgrass, Noble, Soucek, Bowen; Antonio |
Head-to-Head Record
Manchester City boast an excellent record against the Irons. When they met in the opening fixture of the season, City romped to a 5-0 away victory, with the now injured Sterling scoring a hat-trick.

In their last five meetings, the Sky Blues have a 100% record. Yet, the last two at the Etihad have been close affairs, with City scraping a 1-0 win last year, and a 2-1 victory the season before.
Recent Form
Both sides failed to record wins in their last Premier League outing. City's loss at Spurs was their first in five. Since the turn of the year, they have beaten Everton, Aston Villa, and Sheffield United in the league, and drawn at home to Crystal Palace.
City, though, have looked less convincing on home turf of late after their draw with Palace, and their nervy win over Everton. In fact, in all competitions, they have failed to win three of their last five, losing their last two.

West Ham's run of recent results has been woeful, managing to pick up just two points from a possible 15.
Before their collapse against Brighton, January has seen Moyes' men lose league matches to Liverpool, Leicester and Sheffield United. Their only other point came from a 1-1 home draw with Everton. The Hammers were also knocked out of the FA Cup by Championship side West Brom.
Here's each side's last five fixtures in all competitions:
Man City | West Ham |
Tottenham 2-0 Man City (02/02) | West Ham 3-3 Brighton (01/02) |
Man City 0-1 Manchester United (29/01) | West Ham 0-2 Liverpool (29/01) |
Man City 4-0 Fulham (26/01) | West Ham 0-1 West Brom (25/01) |
Sheffield United 0-1 Man City (21/01) | Leicester 4-1 West Ham (22/01) |
Man City 2-2 Crystal Palace (18/01) | West Ham 1-1 Everton (18/01) |
Prediction
Of late, Manchester City have struggled to replicate the scintillating title-winning form of last season. However, they will be licking their lips over the prospect of a visit from West Ham, who they hold an excellent record over.
