Manchester United picked up a huge 2-0 derby victory over rivals Manchester City, moving closer to the Premier League top-four while also picking up bragging rights to the delight of the home support at Old Trafford.
City goalkeeper Ederson made two crucial errors that allowed both Anthony Martial and substitute Scott McTominay to score.

The Red Devils will be overjoyed by a hard-fought win that means they now are just three points behind fourth-placed Chelsea in the race to secure Champions League qualification.
Both managers had injuries affect their team selections before the match. Despite prior concerns over Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka's fitness, Man Utd boss Ole Gunnar Solskjær was able to select both in his starting eleven.
On the other hand, Pep Guardiola was unable to call on the services of Kevin De Bruyne, and picked 19-year-old Phil Foden in his place.
And these calls had fans pre-game talking before the game kicked off...

I still don't know about Phil Foden man, to me he is okay'ish. This is the game to show me what I haven't seen in almost 3 years of him.

1 - Phil Foden (19y & 285d) will become the youngest Englishman to start a Premier League Manchester derby for Man City since Micah Richards in February 2008 (19y & 231d). Opportunity. #MNUMCI pic.twitter.com/g8IAJVpUFq

Ole’s tactics are basically “it worked last time” smh go at this City team man
— Romayne Mais (@RMais3) March 8, 2020
And nerves among the Red Devils' defence started to show when Raheem Sterling's curling effort was palmed away by David De Gea in the opening stages...
City already could be 1-0 up #mufc #ManchesterDerby

Yet it soon became apparent that City's defence was equally as vulnerable, with Daniel James and Anthony Martial forcing Ederson into action. The mounting pressure paid off soon enough, when Martial's side-foot effort from Bruno Fernandes' free-kick rolled past the goalkeeper's hands into the net, much to United fans' delight...
Anthony Martial!!!

Bruno Fernandes with the quick thinking.
Ederson with the howler!
30'#MUN 1 - 0 #MCI
But is Fernandes actually any good? Well, yeah, he is. The assist was better than the finish. Martial caught that well but Ederson... #MUNMCI

I. Love. Bruno. Fernandes. #MUNMCI

Nobody silences critics like Martial does. What a player!

Fans of the Red Devils felt they should have got a penalty when Fred was tripped by Nicolas Otamendi towards the end of the first-half. Even champion Jamaican sprinter and Man Utd fan Usain Bolt weighed in...
VAR...... thats a penalty!! #MUNMCI

VAR
— Usain St. Leo Bolt (@usainbolt) March 8, 2020
That was a penalty @ManUtd 路♂️
Why VAR hasn't intervened there beggars belief. Even more of an inventive to intervene given the referee is the narcissistic Mike Dean.
— Samuel Luckhurst (@samuelluckhurst) March 8, 2020
After the half-time break, City striker Sergio Agüero thought he had equalised for the away side, only for his goal to be ruled out for offside...
Wild start to second half. Aguero VAR goal offside & Ederson denies Martial after missing the ball
— Simon Peach (@SimonPeach) March 8, 2020
That was blatantly onside from Aguero, even the line had him onside and still given as offside
— Andrew Leason (@ANDREW0675) March 8, 2020
And the introductions of both Riyad Mahrez and Gabriel Jesus provided hope for fans of the Sky Blues as they tried to get back into the game...
Finally City have outlets with Jesus and Mahrez
— Babaro (@Ngunu_) March 8, 2020
Now the second half, Pep definitely made the necessary change. Mahrez and Jesus always brings in goals from nowhere. Finally Foden has shifted to right halfspace were he works brilliantly, the impact is now clearly visible.#MUNMCI

With time running out, frustration amongst the away support started to grow when Sterling couldn't divert a cross past De Gea.
United survive!

Mahrez picks up Sterling in the centre but the fizzed low cross is just out of the forward's reach.

United proceeded to defend like their lives depended on it, with City pushing for an equaliser as the game neared the end...

But it was the home side who sealed the win, with substitute McTominay taking advantage of another Ederson error to score and seal the win for the Red Devils.
OH MY GOSH SCORT MCTOMINAY ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?!?!?

With the final whistle confirming United's win, fans (including Bolt) reacted to the huge win for the Red Devils with delight and sheer joy.
