Manchester City booked their place in the FA Cup quarter-finals at Hillsborough, as they beat Sheffield Wednesday 1-0 on Wednesday night.
City were hoping to move one step closer to retaining their FA Cup title, which they won in some style last year. Meanwhile, Sheffield Wednesday were aiming to reach their first quarter final in 23 years, and the first time this century after a torrid run in the world's oldest cup competition.
The first big chance of the game fell to Nicolas Otamendi, whose accurate header came off the crossbar. The Argentine connected well but just missed the target, as City's first chance of the game came within inches of breaking the deadlock.

Manchester City finally got their goal just before the hour mark, as talisman Sergio Aguero got on the scoresheet. He controlled the ball well and fired it goal-bound, and goalkeeper Joe Wildsmith didn't get a strong hand to it as it bounced into the back of the net.
53. GOAL! @aguerosergiokun breaks the deadlock! Goalkeeper will be disappointed with that but it puts the boys ahead!

City's pursuit of a seventh FA Cup goes on, as they rather comfortably booked their place in the last eight. Pep Guardiola's side will learn their quarter final opponents on Wednesday night, with the draw due to take place straight after the game.
Sheffield Wednesday travel to west London next to face Brentford on Saturday, with the hosts chasing promotion. Manchester City contest the Manchester derby on Sunday, as they travel to city rivals Manchester United.
